Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Encourage children to take turns whilst playing ‘I spy’. Clues could be by colour, initial sound or position. (PS8)

Communication, Language and Literacy

Share books such as Where’s Wally? by Martin Handford (Walker Books) or 1001 Things to Spot on the Farm by Gillian Doherty (Usborne) which encourage children to look closely at the pictures, use descriptive vocabulary and discuss with others as things are found or cannot be seen. (L1)

Encourage children to practise letter formation by making eye charts for the role-play area. (L19)

Write a group poem which begins with the line ‘Through the window we can see...’. Encourage children to think of descriptive alliterations such as a tall towering tree, a brown, breaking brick. (L4, 12)
